Montana Museum of Work History

The museum was opened in 2007 but had been a dream for much longer! The museum is blended within the Axmen store and co-owned by brothers Guy and Grant Hanson. Guy and Grant have always had a knack for coming across rare items and a love for sharing them with the world and the museum has given them a chance to do just that. The Montana museum of Work History is a celebration of the innovation and work ethic that allowed people to survive and prosper in Montana. The everyday people of Montana had extraordinary tenacity and courage. We are here to celebrate and remember not the famous, not the infamous, but the ordinary Montanan that did extraordinary things. Our displays include antique firearms, steam and gas engines, automobiles, tools of all descriptions, logging, mining equipment and much more. Here at the Museum of Work History it is not about the stuff, it is about the story. The Axmen is full of those stories. Every piece in our museum has a story worth telling. For a true Montana experience come on out for a tour. We’ll pop some popcorn and make some coffee and share some stories.
